BrothRecipeBox does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information.
BrothRecipeBox is an offline recipe book that scales ingredients to any number of servings and runs a timer on every timed step. The pages that follow describe, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with the things you type into it.
None. There is no sign-up, no account and no profile on any server. The name and the small avatar you can set are stored on the phone so the app has something to call you, and they are never sent anywhere.
For the app to work, the following is kept in the operating system's local storage, on your phone, and nowhere else:
None of it is uploaded. Uninstalling the app removes every byte.
None. The Android package declares no uses-permission entries at all — not camera, not storage, not location, and not even internet access. There is nothing for the system to prompt you about.
There is no networking code in the build. The app makes no HTTP requests, opens no sockets, and contacts no server — ours or anyone else's. It works identically in aeroplane mode. The only thing that ever leaves the app is what you hand to the Android share sheet yourself, and that is a fixed one-line description of the app - never your own entries. Where it goes after that is decided by whichever app you pick in the sheet.
None. No analytics, no advertising, no crash or error reporting, no attribution or A/B testing SDK. The packages the app is built on — Flutter, provider, Hive, shared_preferences, fl_chart, intl and share_plus — are all local-only libraries and none of them phone home.
The app is safe for all ages. Because nothing is collected and nothing is transmitted, no personal information can be gathered from a child under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and none of the notice-and-consent machinery in COPPA or GDPR-K is triggered.
Everything the app knows about you is on your own phone, so you already have complete access to it and complete control over it. Delete an individual recipe or log entry from inside the app, use the reset in the keeper screen to clear the lot, or uninstall the app — uninstalling removes the recipe book and every setting with it. There is no copy on any server for us to return or erase, and nothing to restore from afterwards.
If anything in this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will be revised, and material changes will appear in the app's release notes.
